Hello Colorado! New studio up and running!

We have made the trek from New Hampshire to the bright shining light of Golden, Colorado! I love love love it here and this landscape of rolling grassy Rocky Mountain foothills and bright sunshine outside my studio window just begs for me to get to work! Along the way I collected some new vintage glass bottles, candles and more for props and the inspiration gained through the car window, wowza!

Soon I will be photographing the awesome Super Skivvies! Handmade training pants for the crime fighter in your family :) Steph of Super Skivvies is the newest member of the NOMAD family and I'm so excited to start working with her! Will be posting photos soon :)

As for posting new photographs, here is a sampling of the work I did with Lara of Classic Keepsakes, a whimsical and romantic jewelry collection:

Why props are so important! (A very fun day)

Yesterday was my 4th session with Pamper Me Pure's line of bath and body alchemy and what a day!
The scent was Blackberry Bellini and we decided to use real blackberries, a champagne flute and (ahem) ginger ale! ;) I was so excited photographing this one, the light playing off the texture and shape of the fruit and the wonderful bubbles in the champagne flute, it was a total joy to shoot!

New Horizons!

Saying goodbye to New England
In 2 weeks my little family and studio will be relocating to Colorado! We are so excited for the change in scenery and weather - and good news for my photos - the Denver area gets more sunlight than San Diego! Woohoo! New Hampshire was starting to get a little dreary this time of year and since I love shooting with natural sunlight, my working time each day was getting shorter and shorter.

I'm excited to explore the amazing surrounding landscapes of places like Red Rocks, the rock bridges of Moab Utah and so much more, even thinking...how can I incorporate these astounding sites into my photos?!

The move should give me a week to 10 days of downtime from shooting, but I hope for much less. I am in overdrive these next 2 weeks shooting 70+ items for 3 clients, whew! I never really needed sleep that much, sure! ;)

I'm also happy to report two new clients, soon you will be seeing the gorgeous jewelry designs of Lara Hennessey with Classic Keepsakes and the fantastically fun Super Skivvies colorful hand-sewn training pants by Steph Evans!

And lastly 1,000 colorful NOMAD business cards arrived on my doorstep yesterday! Want 1? 10? 100? Ha, just send me your mailing address and I'll get some out to ya!

Happy Tuesday all!
xoxo

I have to say I was a little more than excited when I opened Carol of Pamper Me Pure's latest shipment to be photographed, tie-dyed soaps!!! So colorful and oh so fragrant. Bohemia is her citrus and patchouli blend, here's a sneak peek!

Next came Vanilla Bean, a lovely scent that I thoroughly enjoyed pairing with real vanilla beans, a dark leaf tray, candles and a sea sponge, a fun shoot for sure!

Introducing Andrew's Reclaimed!

Seattle based Andrew Petitt is a woodworker with a eco-conscious mind. His bird feeders  soap dishes, and yes, wheatgrass planters are clean lined works with reclaimed materials. Often made from cedar and salvaged barn wood, Andrew and his partner Melissa pair vintage, repurposed hardware with their wooden creations for an elegant and unique look.

Here are Andrew's newest wheatgrass planters complete with chalkboards painted on the front panels, perfect for wedding and party place cards!

I truly had a wonderful time setting up this shot, rustic reed mats, vintage cobalt plates and little candles I made from scratch! The local New Hampshire wheatgrass added such pop and texture - this reinforces why I love adding "props" to images - creates a wonderful story I hope!
